Miami
Township Fire-Rescue, as an American Heart Association Community
Training Center, offers AHA courses throughout the year. Courses are generally taught at our Fire Station in Yellow Springs,
but can be customized and delivered at other locations. Please see

We offer the following courses.
Heartsaver®
CPR AED
for the General Public
Designed for individuals and organizations wanting
to become proficient and AHA certified in the application of adult CPR
and the use of an Automatic External Defibulator. Optional modules in
child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant
choking are available.

BLS
for Healthcare Providers
Designed for healthcare professionals such as EMT's, nurses, doctors, etc. This course will cover basic skills such
as CPR, AED, FBAO and more. Students must register at least 2 weeks
prior to the start of the course.

ACLS
Advance Cardiac Life Support
Designed for healthcare professionals such as
paramedics, nurses, and doctors this course will teach the skills
needed to managed the first 10 minutes of cardiac arrest utilizing
core case scenarios. Additional emergencies such as CVA, MI and
respiratory arrest are also taught. Students must have prior
knowledge of ECG interpretation. Students must register at least 4
weeks before the start of the class.

PALS
Paediatric Advance Life Support
Designed for healthcare professionals such as
paramedics, nurses and doctors this course will teach the skills
needed to manage a critically ill child. Students will learn advanced
patient assessment skills, intraosseous infusion, paediatric
medication administration and more.
Students must register at least
4 weeks before the start of the class.

PEARS
Paediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition & Stabilization
Designed for healthcare providers who do not work
with critically ill paediatric patients on a regular basis. This
course is ideal for EMT's and nurses. Students assessment skills in
cardiopulmonary distress and intervention are enhanced.
Students
must register at least 4 weeks before the start of the class.

and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.
